The “Task Force Bundesliga” (consisting of members of DHB, BLVV and Hockeyliga), which was called up by the German Hockey Association, again gave advice on Sunday, April 19 about the continuation of Bundesliga operations and decided by majority to recommend the DHB to suspend the play of the 1st and 2nd leagues (women and men) until July 31, 2020.
The decision was made, among other things, after taking an opinion from representatives of the Bundesliga clubs, and taking into account the decisions defined by the Federal Government in agreement with the Prime Minister last week.
In the next step, the task force will develop scenarios for how the Bundesliga operations can continue and present various variants to the Bundesliga clubs on Friday, April 24.
The task force announces in advance that a season rating based on the current table standings with champions as well as promoters and promoters is excluded.
At the same time, a scenario is being developed in the event that the Corona crisis in August / September does not allow gaming to resume.
The clubs will be asked for video feedback on the scenarios.
DHB President Carola Morgenstern-Meyer on the current developments: “I would like to express my thanks to all members of the task force who cooperated very effectively. I was also pleased with the overwhelming participation of the clubs in the video conference on Friday as well as the numerous tips and ideas from the clubs’ ranks regarding the continuation of the game. It shows how active and constructive German hockey is. “
