The U-16 Spain Championship has become the latest hockey fixture to be affected by the corona outbreak.
It’s been suspended in what has been described as a “precautionary measure” by the Spanish Hockey Federation.
The Spanish Hockey Federation is awaiting for the latest instruction from the CSD, in which they will be informed regarding the celebration of statewide sporting events.
For now, the regulations state that if matches have to be played, they must be played behind closed doors.
Because, there is great uncertainty about it and taking into account the economic and sports problems that may arise from a last-minute decision, the RFEH has decided to suspend the upcoming U-16 Spanish Championship, which was to be held at the Terrassa Sports Club in Barcelona; organized by the Catalan Hockey Federation.
If possible, this competition may be postponed, on a date that is more favourable.
Other hockey events around the world are being played behind closed doors, postponed or cancelled as coronavirus continues to spread.
