The European hockey association (EHF) has suspended the the final eight tournament for women and men, which was to take place in Amsterdam over Easter, following the latest developments in the COVID-19 pandemic.
The U14 youth tournament, which was set to also take place, is also affected.
The tournament was set “on hold” by the EHF, but at this point there is no alternative date.
“Our decision was not just based on our concerns over players and officials’ wellbeing, but also the fans and everyone involved in the EHL,” the league organizers told ‘The Dragflick’
“We will resume the competition as soon as we are sure that conditions are safe for all,” league organizers added.
This affects the men’s teams from Uhlenhorst Mülheim, Mannheimer Hc and Rot-Weiss Köln as well as the women’s teams from UHC Hamburg and Club an der Alster.
Fans who bought tickets for the EHL Final Eight in Amsterdam should receive an email from the ticket service provider Eventim within the next week and then get the purchase price refunded within the following weeks.
