The Bangabandhu Al Arafh Islami Bank Junior World Cup Qualifier & Junior Asia Cup Dhaka 2020 is set to take place from the 4th to the 12th of June, 2020 at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The tournament will witness stiff competition among the top performing teams from across Asia with big stakes at play, as the three highest-finishing teams will join automatically qualified host India in next year’s Men’s Hockey Junior World Cup.
The ceremony saw the logo for the Men’s Junior Asia Cup unveiled during the Logo unveiling ceremony.
This year, the premier junior continental tournament will for the first time feature ten teams that consist of the host nation Bangladesh along with China, Chinese Taipei, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Oman, Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
The Hero Men’s Asian Champions Trophy 2020 will be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh between November 17-27, 2020. This was announced by the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) today.
The Bangladesh Hockey Federation will be the host of the tournament.
Introduced in 2011, the inaugural Men’s Asian Champions Trophy was won by India. The Hero Men’s Asian Champions 2018 Pakistan and India were declared joint winners by virtue of forfeiture of the final due to persistent rain. The tournament will witness intense competition among some of the top performing teams from across Asia.
The 6th edition of the biennial event will take place at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The prestigious event is being held for the first time Bangladesh, since the tournament’s inception in 2011.
The Men’s Asian Champions Trophy 2020 will be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh between November 17-27, 2020. This was announced by the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) today. The Bangladesh Hockey Federation will be the host of the tournament.
This year, the continental tournament will feature host nation Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, South Korea, and Japan.
AHF President, Fumio Ogura had this to say on the occasion: “We are delighted to announce the successful hosting agreement between the AHF and the BHF. The AHF is pleased to further expand our cooperation with the Bangladesh Hockey Federation, who have become a key partner for the AHF. After the successful delivery of the Hero Men’s Asia Cup 2017, the BHF is hosting the Asian Champions Trophy 2020 tournament and taking on the challenge of hosting the Bangabandhu Al Arafh Islami Bank Junior World Cup Qualifier & Junior Asia Cup Dhaka 2020 in June. I am convinced that both of the upcoming events will be great successes and will be organized with the same aspiration of excellence and diligence that we have seen so far.”
