Like every year, the Royal Belgian Hockey Association has awarded the Golden Sticks.
This happened on Sunday, November 10 during a gala dinner at the Martin’s Hotel – Château du Lac in Genval.
Various prizes were awarded throughout the evening.
There was a vote by the players and players who were active in the Belgian Honorary Division last season, as well as by the T1 and T2 of the relevant teams.The voting period was June 2019.
RISING STAR WOMEN
This year, Ambre Ballenghien , 18, was elected. The new young gold nugget from the Red Panthers and from Gantoise thus won her first individual prize.

Every year, the general public also has the opportunity to cast their votes. The most popular player this year award went to the talented Estelle Meulemans of Racing!

Among the men, it was Felix Denayer who was preferred by the public, for the third year in a row.
GOLDEN STICK WOMEN
In the running for the Ladies Golden Stick, the experienced Barbara Nelen and Alix Gerniers, Michelle Struijk, Emma Puvrez and keeper Elodie Picard, were nominated. Eventually it was Emma Puvrez who was allowed to raise the prestigious award for the first time in her career.
GOLDEN STICK MEN
Among the men, also only familiar faces: Florent van Aubel and Tom Boon, Arthur De Sloover, Simon Gougnard, and Victor Wegnez, were nominated. The award was won by ‘Wizard’ Florent van Aubel , who took the prize for the third time in his career and for the second year in a row.
