Dragflick Newsdesk : The selection of Catalonia, has been proclaimed this Sunday in Benalmádena; new champions of Spain Autonomic Sub-16. They have done so by defeating the Community of Madrid (3-6), in a disputed final held in Retamar.
A match for the title, where Silvia Bonastre’s women would take a first double advantage in the match. Despite the fact that Madrid would discount, Marta Alcaraz, with her second goal of the match, which certified her as the competition’s top scorer, again increased the lead to two. Four new goals from the Catalans, despite the two from Sara Carmona, ended up defining the trophy on the side of the eventual winners.
The bronze medal has been awarded to the Cantabria team, after beating Galicia by a minimum (1-2), in the match for third place in the competition. A meeting that Laura Gómez opened for the later winners. Lucía Lamelas equalized it again, taking advantage of a corner penalty, but already in the final stretch, Gómez again hit the rival goal to give the Cantabrian team the victory.
