The Chinese are making yet another history. Liaoning Infinite Space – The Chinese league champions are the first invited team to take part in the Malaysia Women’s Hockey League.

Coach Gao Lihua’s squad is led by China international midfield lynchpin Chen Yang who starred in last year’s Women’s Hockey World Cup, as well as China’s former 2016 Olympic squad player Yu Qian.

The squad also consist ofthree former internationals in their ranks, Wang Feixue, Guo JiaJia and Wang Libin, apart from a few China youth team players.

“Our target for our inaugural season here is to emerge as league and overall champions,” said Lihua, who won a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

“What we know is we will give it our all to ensure that we do not end up empty handed.” Lihua said.
