Dragflick Newsdesk : The Royal Belgian Hockey Association (KBHB) and national coach Raoul Ehren have enthusiastically agreed to continue together until Paris 2024.
Dutchman Raoul Ehren has been head coach of the Red Panthers, the Belgian women’s hockey, for a year and a half now. His contract runs until the next World Cup, which will take place in Spain and the Netherlands at the beginning of July.
The partnership is excellent and the progress the Red Panthers have made on the international stage still shows enormous potential. The Federation and Raoul have therefore decided in a completely natural way to continue working towards the top of Belgian women’s hockey at least until the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.
“I have really enjoyed the past two years leading the Belgian Red Panthers. The belief in the program, the progress we have made and the potential for the future made it an easy decision for me to continue with the team until Paris 2024,” said Raoul Ehren.
“What also made the difference is the High Performance environment that we have developed in Belgium. We have experienced high quality athletes, exciting youngsters moving on and an excellent support staff. I am convinced that if we continue to develop, we will have everything we need to compete for medals at major events in the future.”
High Performance Director Adam added:
“We are delighted that Raoul has extended his contract with the Red Panthers to the 2024 Olympics. Raoul is an excellent coach who has developed a fantastic relationship with the team and staff.”
“The Red Panthers have risen to their highest ranking ever (#7 in the world) under his leadership. We are therefore confident that we can continue to make progress with him at the helm.”
