The Belgium men’s hockey team are European champions for the first time in their history! And this, eight months after winning the world champion title.

In the final of the Belfius EuroHockey Championships in Antwerp, the Red Lions steamed rolled Spain this Saturday night (5-0) thanks to goals from Dohmen, van Aubel, Boon (PC), Stockbroekx and Hendrickx (PC).

In addition to this continental title, Shane McLeod’s men also validate their ticket for the Tokyo Olympics, where they will target gold. But that’s for later.

Victor Wegnez was voted Best Player of the tournament, Vincent Vanasch Best Goalkeeper and Tom Boon and Alexander Hendrickx must share the top scorer title with Spanish Pau Quemada and the Dutchman Mirco Pruijser.
