National Striker, Faizal Saari today appeared to apologize as he was confirmed Positive Covid-19 has resulted in the entire National Men’s Senior Squad not being able to participate in the Asian Champions Trophy Championship, Dhaka, Bangladesh which is scheduled to take place on 14 to 22 December 2021.

Faizal, who tested positive for Covid-19 on December 8, did not experience any symptoms, signs or symptoms of Covid-19 infection and took responsibility for the difficulties experienced by the National Men’s Senior Squad which now has to undergo a quarantine process as close contact to him.

First of all, I would like to apologize to the team and the management, especially the President of the Hockey Confederation of Malaysia (MHC), Dato ‘Sri Subahan Kamal and all those involved.

“I apologize because I was confirmed Positive Covid-19, the team could not participate in the Asian Champions Trophy. I apologize too for putting the team in this situation.

“What happened was not something I wanted but because it happened, I took this responsibility. Because of me, the team couldn’t get to Bangladesh and that’s what impressed me the most because it involved the team.

“I have also followed all the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as best as possible but am still infected with Covid-19 because this virus is something that cannot be seen with the naked eye.

“Once again, I really apologize and I will try to think positively to face this situation. I’m not sure where I got this infection from.

“Now I have to undergo a quarantine process for 10 days before doing the smear test again. I hope the next smear test is all right, ”he explained, taking full responsibility and apologizing for putting many parties in a difficult situation.

MHC confirmed that the National Men’s Senior Squad will not play in the Asian Champions Trophy Championship in Dhaka, Bangladesh due to one of the players being certified Positive Covid-19 and had to comply with instructions from the National Sports Council (NSC) and the Ministries in charge. on the case of the Covid-19 Pandemic in Malaysia for Malaysia to withdraw from participating in the tournament.
