The Netherlands hockey team on Monday secured their Tokyo Olympic 2020 berth after defeating Pakistan in the second leg of the qualifier.

After the first of the two Olympic hockey qualifiers between Pakistan and Netherlands ended in a scintillating 4-4 draw, the men in green were beaten by 6-1 by Netherlands in the second qualifier.
With this defeat, Pakistan’s dream of competing in the premier event came to an end.

Taking to Twitter, Netherlands ambassador to Pakistan, Wouter Plomp said, the 4-4 draw will be a remembered for a long time.

The Pakistan hockey team returned home on Tuesday. The manager-cum-head coach Khwaja Junaid claims the performance of the Green-shirts against Holland was satisfactory as they had had only six-week training.
