The Netherlands men’s hockey team hammered Pakistan to book a place in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with a 6-1 win in the second of back to back matches in Amstelveen.
Though the Pakistanis had shown some spark in the first qualifier when they had held hosts Holland to a 4-4 draw, they allowed the Dutch to trample all over them in the second match.
With this, Pakistan thus go out of the most prestigious event for the second successive time.
Speaking about the performance, Pakistan’s Rashid Mehmood said;
“Obviously, we couldn’t match Holland’s speed. But, then don’t forget that a World No.17 team was up against a World No. 3 team.”

"The Dutch team played very well today. We made a lot of mistakes in the first half and the Dutch took advantage of that. It's certainly disappointing we missed out on the Olympics again." Rashid Mehmood.#FIHOlympicQualifiers pic.twitter.com/iUXsEaz13K

The three times Olympic champions Pakistan also missed the 2016 Rio (Brazil) Olympics and yet again will be seen missing the twelve team competition in Tokyo in a year time.
