The German men won their last away game in the FIH Pro League in London on Thursday evening beating the Great Britain men 4-3.
Will Calnan (10′ min), Phil Roper (21′ min)and Sam ward (35′ min)scored for Great Britain while Johannes Grobe(28′ min), Florian Fuchs (32′ min), Marco Mitkaru(52′ min) and Timm Herbruch (58′ min) scored for Germany.
National coach Stefan Kermas said it was a narrow victory but a great result.
“We did not start the game as we imagined, and it took us a long time to the level we needed. After quarter two, it was gradually better. I liked how we defended in the first quarter and picked up the pace.”
“We will give everything in the four home games in Krefeld, and then we’ll see where it puts us on the table on June 16.”
Florian Fuchs said he was happy with the win and looking forward to more games in Krefeld.
“We have four home games in Krefeld. I’m looking forward to that! ”
With three wins, three draws (two with extra points) and three defeats, the HONAMAS are now sitting on the fifth place in the Pro League table, moving past Great Britain and coming very close to the Netherlands and the Argentinians in the third and fourth place, their chance of a Final Four participation has grown.
