Malaysian women defeated the Czech Republican women with a clean sweep victory to finish third in the FIH Series Finals hockey tournament in Banbridge.
Malaysia scored through Hanis Onn (11th), Fazilla Sylvester (34th), Nuramirah Zulkifli (60th) to emerge winners.
“It was a very win. We stayed focused on the process. I was happy with the things we have been working on, we created a lot of opportunities and I believe we can still do better,” Malaysian women‘s team chief coach, Dharma Raj said.
Malaysia scored the second most goals (22 goals) in the entire tournament after hosts Ireland.
The FIH Series Finals offer two spots in the final round of Olympic qualifiers to be held later this year.
Korea and Ireland have already sealed the two spots by entering the final.
