Japan booked their place in the semi-finals of the FIH men’s hockey series finals tournament after defeating Poland 6-2 in the cross-over match.

Japan were off to an excellent start as Shota Yamada gave his team an early lead.
Buoyed by the lead, the Japan dominated possession and kept the Poland defenders on their toes with a constant stream of attacks.
Forced to defend in numbers Poland focussed on keeping out the Japan attacks and hitting back with the occasional counter-attack.
Mikolaj Gumny (7th) and Mateusz Hulboj (26th) were the goal scorers for Poland.
While Japan will take on India in the semifinals on Friday, South Africa will take on USA in the last-four round.
