A confident India, led by Captain Rani Ramp are all set to take on Chile in the semi-final match of the FIH Women’s Series Finals in Hiroshima on Saturday.
Ranked No.9 in the World, the Indian women’s team recorded 3 of 3 wins and scored a total of 20 goals in the tournament till now.
Teams that finish at the top two in the tournament will make it to the Olympics qualifier to be held later this year.
Coach Sjoerd Marijne said his team has prepared well for the tournament and finishing on the top is a realistic goal.
“We are a better experienced team now and the athletes know the importance of this winning this tournament. We have done everything we could do to be well-prepared and now we will focus on the semi-final match against Chile.” said chief coach Sjoerd Marijne.
Indian team Captain Rani Rampal said she is confident of a good show against Chile.
“Our performance has been on the rise over the past year and the fact that many of us have been playing together for quite a few years gives us an edge.” Rani said.
The tournament will also see Russia taking on Japan for a semi-final match post the India vs Chile clash.
