World No. 27 Wales women defeated World No.28 Thailand women on day two of the FIH Womens Finals Series in Valencia.
This win has enabled them to move to the top of Pool B.
Wales may be low ranked team coming to the tournament, but their form seems to be lethal.
In the opening match of the tournament, they played a (2-2) draw against the South African women.
Hughes said the team stuck to the plan and executed well.
“We made sure we stuck to our principles. We tried out our presses to put pressure on them but also kept our discipline. And our penalty corners worked well. We didn’t give them all away – they are our secret weapon.” the goalscorer said.
Action continues on Friday, June 21st. Heres how the teams will play out.
