Florida International University in Miami is seeking applications for an Associate Strength and Conditioning Coach. FIU is a member of Conference USA and offers seventeen (17) NCAA Division I sports programs.
The successful candidate will assist the Director of Strength and Conditioning Coach to enhance the physical and mental development of intercollegiate student-athletes through the establishment of sports specific training programs that intensify the physical strength, speed, and cardiovascular conditioning of the student-athlete.
Primary sports coverage and experience is required in baseball and softball. Instruct, monitor and educate all student-athletes regarding proper weight training techniques and designs training programs for both improved performance and injury prevention. Assist in the general operation and maintenance of the athletics weight room and attend practices and competitions.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years specialized experience. Must possess National Strength and Conditioning Association certification (CSCS).

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Physical Education and two (2) years of experience is required in positions involving the development and management of sport-specific individual and group strength training programs for men and women or Master’s degree with an emphasis in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Physical Education.
Successful experience as a graduate assistant or intern in an athletic program is acceptable with one (1) year of the required experience.
A CPR/Standard First Aid Certification.
Must have one of the National Strength and Conditioning Certifications:
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Certification (CSCS) or
- Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) or
- Certified Strength Coach (CSC)
