Continuation and end of the competition for the French women’s team who approached this tournament with notable fatigue but unconditional determination. You had to get up early on this Sunday to come and see the Blues play.

The adversary? Poland. Les Bleues know them since they faced each other in a test match twice at the beginning of August 2021. Les Bleues had won twice by the score of 3 goals to 1 against the 25th world team.

The first quarter of the match is clearly for the Poles. While not dangerous, they control the ball and fit into the game much better. Note, however, a French Petit Corner at the end of the period which will give nothing.

After a good coffee, things can resume. The Blue are much more domineering and get a second PC. Once again, the Polish defense is effective. And almost against the course of the game, the players of Janusz Mical get a Penalty Stroke after a CP (21 ‘).

Surgical, captain Marlena Rybacha does not tremble and allows hers to take the lead (0-1). The answer was to arrive quickly for the dominant Blue. And it is not missed since the young talented Yohanna Lhopital is again talking about her with a very nice shoot following a rebound granted by the Polish door (1-1 23 ‘).

The Blues continue to push and get a third Penalty Corner of the match, again without success. Half-time is called in Pisa and the Blues have returned to the match.

At 11 against 10 for 5 minutes following a yellow card at the end of the period, the Blue took advantage and accentuated their domination. Julie Brachet and then Emma Ponthieu each succeed in their turn a beautiful entry into the circle. After a third entry into the circle, the Blue obtained a 4th PC of the match. And this time it’s the right one. Inès Lardeur does not miss this chance and scores. Les Bleues take the lead (2-1 37 ‘).

The Poles had to answer and it is done. They provoke a yellow card from Tessa Schubert (40 ‘) and push in front of Mathilde Pétriaux’s cage. They get a PC and convert it (2-2 42 ‘). The break comes at the right time.

Note that several girls were affected by the injuries. Delfina Gaspari and Guusje Van Bolhuis went into battle. Les Bleues are fighters and the state of mind is impeccable. At the start of the last quarter, Emma Ponthieu enters the circle and tries her luck. It is Gabrielle Verrier, alone in front of goal, who completes the game and allows the Blue to lead 3 goals to 2 (51 ‘).

Shortly after, the Blue obtained a new Petit Corner. Inès Lardeur decided that it was HER day. The number 23 shoots and once again deceives Marta Kucharska (4-2 53 ‘).

The end of the match is dominated by the Poles who must return to the match. But in vain. Les Bleues won against the 25th nation in the world and garnered important points for the FIH ranking. The French women’s team ends its tournament in style.
