Tom Boon is a Belgian international field hockey player who is usually positioned as striker. He started at Royal White Star HC, and after also having played for Bloemendaal he now comes out for the Belgian team Racing Club de Bruxelles. A brilliant striker with a penchant for wonderful goals and creating moves out of nowhere, Tom today is one of top drag-flickers in the world.

Tom Boons grandmother Jacqueline Ronsmans, mother Carine Boon-Coudron, uncles Eric and Marc Coudron and sister Jill Boon have played hockey at the top level.

He broke into the national team when he was 17 in 2008, making a decent impression.

With his club Racing Brussels he became Belgian field hockey champion in five consecutive years (2009-2013). At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed for the national team in the men’s tournament that came fifth. 

In 2009 he finished fifth with this team at the European Championship in Amstelveen and in 2011 they finished fourth at the European Championship in Mönchengladbach. In 2011 he also won the Champions Challenge.

While internationally, Tom has been leaving his mark with every passing event, he hogged the limelight in stunning fashion at last month’s HIL closed bid auction for the 2015 season when he was bought by newcomers Dabang Mumbai for a whopping $103,000.v

At the 2016 Summer Olympic Games Rio de Janeiro, Tom was a part of the the Belgian Hockey Team and was able to achieve the silver medal for his team.

Tom runs the Tom Boon Hockey Internship program, with several top level coaches and players, and caters to train u12, u14, u15.
