Riding high on confidence with their third place finish at the FIH Series Finals in India, the Japan men’s hockey team, led by Coach Siegfried Aikman, are set for their next challenge.
Japan will welcome world no.10 Canada in Fukui, Japan for a seven-day training tour.
Canada will play one match against the Fukui Club, two matches against the Fukui Institute of Technology and four matches against the Japan men’s national team.
The last time the Japan men’s national team met Canada in a big event was at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, in March this year.
The Canadian team will be hoping to carry the same momentum which they displayed at the FIH Series Finals in Malaysia where they claimed a title victory and earned their ticket for the Olympic qualifier.
Canada will be using this tour as a preparatory for the upcoming Pan American games and the Olympic Qualifier round that will take place later in the year.
The matches will be played at the Echizen-cho Asahi General Athletic Ground in Fukui, Japan.
The entrance to the event is free of cost.
