The Japan Hockey Association has announced the Japanese side that will take part in the the much-awaited FIH Men’s Series Finals Bhubaneswar Odisha 2019 scheduled to begin on 6 June 2019 at the iconic Kalinga Hockey Stadium.

The event will see the 18th Asian Games Gold Medalist Japan grouped in Pool B alongside, Mexico, USA and South Africa, while in host India, Russia, Poland and Uzbekistan are grouped in Pool A.

The Japanese team for the coveted event will be led by 29 year old Manabu Yamashita.

Manabu made his debut at the 2011 Men’s Asian Champions Trophy in China and since then has appeared 174 times for Japan in 32 competitions.

Genki Mitani will be making his 150th appearance, while Hirotaka Zendana will be making his 100th appearance in Japans opening campaign on 7 June 2019 against Mexico.
