Las Leonas have resumed training at the CeNARD facilities and for this,coach Carlos Retegui has selected 34 players for 2019’s challenge.
The Board of Directors of the Argentine Hockey Confederation appointed Carlos Retegui as the new coach of the women’s hockey team in December 2018, replacing Agustín Corradini.
Among Retegui’s most important achievements at the head of the Lionesses is the world title at the World Cup in Rosario (2010), the Champions Trophy in Rosario (2012), the silver medal at the Olympic Games in London (2012) and the bronze at the World Cup in The Hague (2014).
In addition, as coach of the Lions, he won the historic gold medal at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games.
In 2019, the most important commitment for the Leonas will be the debut at the FIH Pro League, while between July 26 and August 11 will compete in the Pan American Games in Lima and finally the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
