đź–‡Hockey Jobs : Lycoming College is looking for an Assistant Field Hockey Coach in Williamsport, PA

Lycoming College is seeking applicants for a part-time Assistant Field Hockey Coach. This position is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of Lycoming College’s NCAA Division III Field Hockey program and will be expected to abide by and uphold the regulations of the NCAA Division III and Middle Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Corporation. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Coaching (70%)

  • Organize and conduct practices, conditioning programs and competitive events. Instruct student-athletes with sound principles and expert skills related to field hockey, prepare individual athletes and team for games, set season goals and motivate students using techniques that meet the needs of the students and that are consistent with the Lycoming College athletic program philosophy.
  • Participate in fundraising through the Warrior Club program and fundraising accounts. Adhere to College policies and NCAA legislation regarding fundraising.
  • Know and abide by NCAA Division III regulations and Middle Atlantic States Athletic Conference rules. Successfully complete the annual NCAA “open book” rules test.
  • Comply with the policies and procedures outlined in the Lycoming College Athletic Training handbook. Cooperate with athletic trainers to ensure student-athletes receive proper medical and physical training services.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Athletic Communications to promote the field hockey program. Assist Head Coach in creating social media presence for recruiting and alumni purposes.
  • Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Attend departmental meetings, communicate regularly with the Director of Athletics and contribute positively to the betterment of the total athletics program.
  • Promote the field hockey program, the overall athletic department and Lycoming College with team alumni, parents and community members.

Recruiting (30%)

  • In compliance with NCAA Division III rules and regulations, recruit student-athletes who meet the College’s admission requirements, who possess the potential to contribute to the team, and who will add positively to the student body.
  • Monitor the academic success of student-athletes and collaborate with faculty, the Assistant Dean for Freshmen and other key personnel to promote academic success. Support the academic development of student-athletes through graduation.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and collegiate playing and/or coaching experience
  • Goalkeeper experience a plus
  • Cultural competence and effective communication skills
  • Successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess the ability to recruit, teach and coach highly talented student-athletes who can succeed in a challenging academic environment.
