The women’s hockey squad will receive a visit of India’s senior hockey team in Kuala Lumpur for ten days and a series of friendly matches between the country’s and India’s women’s hockey team will be held.
The news was confirmed by Malaysian Hockey Confederate President, Dato ‘Sri Subahan Kamal in a press conference after chairing the 13th Executive Board of Mesyurarat held at the Palace of Golden Horses last Saturday.
Dato ‘Sri Subahan Kamal explained, “The Indian women’s hockey team agreed to visit Malaysia and we will hold five friendly matches against them. This is also a positive sign as they are willing to spend their own funds against the women’s team.
“This opportunity should be used as well as it is a very useful series for our team before they leave for a European Tour and Women’s Finals Series in Dublin,” added Subahan.
For record, India’s hockey team under Sjoerd Marijne, currently ranked 9th in the world, will be in Kuala Lumpur in early April 2019 and will feature some star players like Rani Rampal, Vandaya Katariya, and many more.
