The National men’s and women’s hockey squads are currently preparing towards crucial qualifying tournaments where the men will focus on the Olympics Tokyo 2020 qualifiers while the women will be participating in the FIH Women’s Series Finals Banbridge Ireland 2019 which also offers two Olympic 2020 qualifying slots.

To prepare both squads for their respective assignments, the Malaysia Hockey Confederation (MHC) have arranged a number of friendly matches for the Malaysian men and women’s squad.

Women’s Squad

  • 23 May – Depart to Rome, Italy (Friendly against Italy & Spain)
  • 1 June – Depart to Glasgow, Scotland (Friendly against Scotland)
  • 6 June – Depart to Belfast, Northern Ireland
  • 8 – 16 June – FIH Women’s Series Finals Banbridge Ireland 2019
  • 17 June – Return to Kuala Lumpur

Men’s Squad

  • 21 July – Depart to Dusseldorf, German
  • 25 July – Test match against Germany in Krefeld
  • 29 July – Test match against Spain in Terrassa
  • 1 – 4 August – Four nations tournament featuring Malaysia, England, Ireland and Spain
  • 6 – 8 August – Friendly match against Netherlands in Breda
  • 9 – 12 August – Friendly match against Belgium in Antwerp
  • 19 – 23 August –Tournament featuring Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia and Japan
  • End of September – Test series against South Korea in Incheon
  • 3rd – 4th Week of October – Olympics Tokyo 2020 qualifiers
