10 matches throughout the tour series have been arranged for them and four friendlies against club -status teams ended with one win, two draws and one loss.

With the next six matches remaining, the Malaysian Tigers will be challenged by the National Squads of Ireland, Wales and France, where four of the remaining six matches are test matches.

Head Coach, National Men’s Senior Squad, A Arulselvaraj praised the attitude of his players who fought with high spirits to find their first win against a club-status team, even though his men had to travel a long way (3 hours) to reach the match venue.

“The first 3-1 victory was from a penalty corner by Razie Rahim where we got four penalty corners and he scored three of them while the opponent got five penalty corners.

“In terms of today’s match, the players controlled the game well, were more organized and played during a relatively high period of the match.

“Today’s victory will also raise the spirits of the players because this is the last action to meet the club here.

“Tomorrow (October 2) we leave for Ireland to meet the Irish national team for a test match, so this win is a boost for them,” Arulselvaraj explained.

Meanwhile, the national team midfielder, Meor Muhammad Azuan Hassan described the victory achieved by his team today as a catalyst for their enthusiasm ahead of the Test Match.

“Thank God, this is our first victory against the England club team and we will make today’s victory in preparation for meeting Ireland and Wales.

“In the previous game we managed to score a goal through field movement when meeting Hampstead & Westminster H.C and it was something good enough for the team to be able to score a field goal.

“Today we scored through a penalty corner and those three goals were good enough for us because the balance in scoring can be seen and we will do more preparations to meet Ireland and Wales,” said Meor Hassan.

The fifth action of the national squad in the United Kingdom Tour Series 2021 will continue on Wednesday, October 6 at 1.30 am Malaysian time where it is also their first test match in this tour series.
