The National Men’s Senior Squad closed out the fourth test match which was also the last test match in the 2021 United Kingdom Tour Series with a 3-1 win over Wales in action which took place at Reading Hockey Club.
With the end of today’s action, it also saw out of the four test matches that have been arranged, Malaysia recorded two wins against Wales and one win and one loss against Ireland.
In total, a total of 10 matches have to be played by the national squad in this tour series, namely four test matches and six friendly matches.
After this, the national squad will continue with the remaining two friendly matches against the French team.
The operator of the National Men’s Senior Squad, A Arulselvaraj, described his squad as having succeeded in achieving one of the goals in the United Kingdom Tour Series 2021, which is to learn to play under pressure and win matches in that stressful situation.
“A good victory for Hockey Malaysia and also the people of Malaysia. This win was even sweeter as we went through a three -hour journey to get to the match venue, we played in cold weather and even rain.
“This is also our main purpose for the United Kingdom Tour because we want players to play under stress. We want them to be able to play under pressure and win matches.
“It’s a pretty good achievement for the players. We believe in the process we go through and we always continue to work hard to achieve our goals in the future.
“Thank you to all who always support us and continue to support us,” he explained
The friendly match between Malaysia and France will take place on 15 October (Friday) at 7.00 pm Malaysian time at the Wales Hockey Center.
