The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has published the play schedule of the FIH Pro League 2020.
Both Dutch national hockey teams will play their home games at four different locations next year.
The FIH decided earlier in 2020 to stick to the principle of away and home games, but to spread it over two consecutive seasons: team A plays two home games against team B, after which team B hosts two games in 2021 for team A.
Both Dutch teams play eight home games each year in this way. Both the Dutch national women’s team and men’s team will compete twice in the Netherlands in 2020 against New Zealand, Australia, Great Britain and Germany.
Next year no Grand Final will be played in connection with the Olympic Games. The League is the team that has the most points after sixteen games.
Four blocks in four locations
There are five locations in the Netherlands that meet the (organizational) requirements of the FIH.
Because the matches can be played in four blocks in 2020, the KNHB uses four locations: HC Rotterdam, HC ‘s-Hertogenbosch, SV Kampong and the Wagener Stadion.
The KNHB has, after proper consultation with the fifth location, HC Oranje-Rood (Eindhoven), agreed that they will be hosting a number of FIH Pro League matches in 2021.
