Pakistan men’s hockey team will tour Germany and play two- matches against Germany on 22nd and 23rd of October 2019 in Mönchengladbach, ahead of their Olympic Qualifier.
In a not so favourable draw, the Pakistan men’s team have been drawn against World No. 3 The Netherlands in the final round of the Tokyo Olympics qualifiers.
The men’s team will play back-to-matches against Netherlands in Amsterdam on 26 and 27 October to make it to the Tokyo Games.
The winner of the matches will secure their ticket for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Pakistan are ranked 17th in the world while the German men are placed 6th in the FIH world rankings.
Pakistan last met Germany at the 2018 Hockey World Cup in Odisha, India and were defeated by Germany 0-1.
Pakistan men’s hockey teams camp is currently underway for the Olympics qualifying round.
Head Coach Khawaja Junaid said that the squad for the Pakistani team for the Olympic Qualifier will be announced in the second week of October.
Pakistan will also welcome the Oman men’s hockey team for a four-match series starting 1st October at the Lahore National Hockey Stadium in Pakistan, as a preparatory for the Olympic Qualifier.
