Sportspersons-turned-politicians have held limelight all over, including the US, England, Australia, Canada, Japan, India.
The new sportsperson to join the politics bandwagon is Former Indian hockey captain Sandeep Singh who joined “BJP” on Thursday along with Akali Dal MLA, Balkaur Singh.
The former India Captain from Shahabad, Haryana fondly known as ” Flicker Singh” is still considered one of the best drag-flickers Indian hockey has ever produced.
Sandeep said he has long been impressed with the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that motivated him to join the politics.
Singh currently holds a DSP rank in the Haryana Police.
The Bollywood film “Soorma” was recently made on his life.
