The Dragflick is proud to announce a new internship program for female students majoring in sport and entertainment management. The successful applicant will get to work alongside our world leading field hockey platform.
The partnership will provide four paid internships per year to advance students’ career experience and develop field hockey industry’s future leaders.
The internship, will be a paid position and will run for one year from July 2019. During this time the applicant will learn all angles of the hockey business by shadowing the news desk, assignments team and field editors and honing their skills at various sporting events.
The internship aims to increase the visibility of field hockey players, whilst also challenging the way in which female hockey players are promoted.
Speaking about the internship, Nimishaa Jagasia – The Dragflicks’ Founder, who is promoting the sport as an agent of change says:
“I feel that’s part of my role,” Nimishaa says. “In what remains a male-dominated field, when all things are equal, I want to help young women break through those barriers.”
The internship program will provide women who are sport and entertainment management majors with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with hockey industry leaders and explore diverse career options in professional sport and entertainment management.
Applications for the 2019 internship program will open in Feb 15, 2018 and run through March 30. Interviews will be conducted in April and applicants notified of their status by May 2019.
