Australian Hockey legend, Jamie Dwyer is among the many world class players to participate in the tournament.
With the Annual California Cup Tournament all set to roll out on May 24 in Moorpark, California, the anticipation and excitement is palpable among hockey aficionados in the country.
The 48th edition of the mega event will run between 24 May and 27 May 2019.
The absolute highlight is the Men’s Super Division competition, which will feature world class athletes who have competed in the Olympics, World Cups and other international competitions.
The California Cup promises to be a high caliber tournament, one that the sport of field hockey has never witnessed.
Participants and spectators will have the opportunity to watch hockey players display an exuberant skill level never seen before in the US.
Jamie Dwyer, Australian Hockey legend, 3x Olympian and world’s best hockey player,is among the many world class players to feature in this tournament and so will Gonzalo Peillat, 2016 Olympic gold medallist who is considered one of the best drag flickers in the world currently.
There are many other star participants, including a number of former US Men’s national team players. India’s Devinder Walmiki, 2016 Olympian will also feature in the tournament.
Almost the entire Canadian team, who are fresh from winning the FIH Hockey Series Final in Malaysia, will be on display. This win propelled Team Canada closer to securing a berth at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The USA Field Hockey has also entered their Junior Men’s National Team in the Super Division with most of the players scheduled to compete at the 2020 Jr. Pan Am Games which will serve as qualifier for the 2020 Jr. World Cup.
This very young team with an average age slightly above 17 will have to opportunity to come face to face with some of the world’s best hockey players.

The assembly of so many world class athletes has raised the prestige of this event to a higher level.
The winning team and California Cup Champion in the Super Men’s Division will be awarded the Championship Trophy and a check for US Dollar 7,500.
